I’ve always had a soft spot for the first gen Prius, I don’t know why. My skills are not good enough to fully customize this the way I’d like (slight negative camber but not stanced, flared fenders and exaggerated skirts.)

I always liked how it looked like an Echo modified to be a hybrid, it was a normal car and not the odd ecomobile that it became in the second generation onward. I’m sure it’s just as soulless to drive, but I hope I get to try some day. I’d probably customize it the way I mentioned/edited above.

Anyone have an automotive guilty pleasure like this? Something you possibly haven’t experienced but you would like to try or just appreciate the aesthetics/design of it?

The Mitsubishi Mirage. For some reason I really like the looks of the 2014 model and it just seems like sensible packaging in an affordable, bare bones kind of way. And yet its utter junk at the same time.

I totally get it. Also, the light weight really makes it attractive, you have to get into crazy price/ carbon fiber with most new cars these days to get weight like that.

The dustbuster vans:

I’ve got no desire to own or drive one, but I like how they look.

They’re like spaceships! Very polarizing. They look both amazing and terrible to me at the same time.

Totally understand, considering one as a DD but it’s likely not worth it. Maybe I’ll drive one and love it. I prefer this body style though. It reminds me of the Juke (which I also love)

I love the Juke, But hate the fact that you can’t get an AWD manual or a AWD turbo manual.

We have a first generation. No power at all and the headlights suck. It’s also loud and not very comfortable. But it gets like 48mpg.

God, it makes me nostalgic from when I’d see those driving around as a kid. Hardly see them anymore.

There’s a part of me that wants to drive a NHW10 - what PriusChat likes to refer to as Gen 0 - out of curiosity for how well it actually worked. (Of course, that would require finding a good example, and apparently the batteries are a bit of a problem on those. Plus, there’s the whole problem that they were never exported from Japan officially, and none will have made it here (USA) yet.)

It’s even slower than the Gen 1 that actually got exported, the engine was only 58 HP instead of the 70 HP of the NHW11, and the electric motor is weaker too.

Define no power. My DD (while admittedly light, 840KG/1850lbs ish) has 55HP/75tq. Slower than 15s to 60MPH/100KMH?

How’s the steering feel?
